VV Brown recently posted a lock of hair to the NME office, saying it embodied the spirit of her forthcoming album ‘Samson & Delilah’. The reference is obvious, but she should have channelled that creativity into this tune instead. The rolling drums and bassy buzzes are OK and her voice is still great, but it’s not as menacing as it’s trying to be.
