XX Teens

‘Darlin’’ is like the future drawn in pencil. Imagine The Fall dodging virtual gunfire on a computer-generated high-wire in Second Life only for Mark E Smith to get distracted by hacking up a phlegm ball and getting shot in the gullet. Yes, XX Teens make cut’n’paste pop, but there’s something to be said for waking up with the sticky, curled-up remnants of glue on your fingers – even more so now that Andrew Weatherall and Druzzis have got hold of the song for this remix 12-inch. And The Knife would be ashamed of what they’ve done with those steel drums, too.
