Where Would You Rather Be?
Oozing the same kind of raw, sticky sex that Queens Of The Stone Age have a habit of squirting all over the place when the mood takes them, ‘Where Would You Rather Be?’ is a filthy romp through the radio-friendly goth-tinged reaches of metal. Its larynx-stripping screams, Nirvana-esque breakdown and rumbling, trembling vocals are so low that bats and dogs are probably oblivious to the fact that this record even exists – which, to be frank, is their chuffing bad luck. This is the kind of sinister, leather-jacketed rock’n’roll that guitars
were made for.
