God bless you Paul Simon American Tune video

Please rate subscribe and pass on. Thank you and Wake Up!! When I was 15 years of age, an American Tune was released from the hit album "There Goes Rhymin' Simon." At the time I remember hearing the tune and I had this "lump" in my throat. During this time I was made to memorize the US Constitution, the Bill of Rights, all of the states and had to learn about Miranda Rights and the American Guarantee of a speedy trial and the protection of your property and papers. Had I known in High School, that Americans three decades later would easily give up their rights, I would have said "your nuts." I've had this sinking feeling in my gut today. You know, the point of no return. Some say it was when John Kennedy was assassinated. Others say it was Iran Contra or possibly when Ronald Regan started getting Dementia and later Alzheimer's while in the Oval Office. Paul Simon took the music of JS Bach. At the time Paul thought about what it was like to be so far from home fighting for the sacred Freedom of America. I get that pit in my stomach living here in New Zealand. I don't know how long these You Tube channels will stay on line or if there will be some other incident. I never realized how sweet and simple my life was back then. Write to me sometime and let me know your thoughts: afteramerica@gmail.com It is simply the hospitality of strangers in a new land that has helped me to stay grounded during this transition. Now for the lyric: Words & music by Paul Simon Many's the time I've been mistaken And many times confused Yes, and I've often felt forsaken And certainly misused Oh, but I'm all right, I'm all right I'm just weary to my bones Still, you don't expect to be Bright and bon vivant So far away from home, so far away from home And I don't know a soul who's not been battered I don't have a friend who feels at ease I don't know a dream that's not been shattered or driven to its knees but it's all right, it's all right for we lived so well so long Still, when I think of the road we're traveling on I wonder what's gone wrong I can't help it, I wonder what's gone wrong And I dreamed I was dying I dreamed that my soul rose unexpectedly And looking back down at me Smiled reassuringly And I dreamed I was flying And high up above my eyes could clearly see The Statue of Liberty Sailing away to sea And I dreamed I was crying We come on the ship they call the Mayflower We come on the ship that sailed the moon We come in the age's most uncertain hours and sing an American tune Oh, and it's alright, it's all right, it's all right You can't be forever blessed Still, tomorrow's going to be another working day And I'm trying to get some rest That's all I'm trying to get some rest
