O aamar desher maati-Tagore's song. Papia Sarwar is one of the best female singers of Bangladesh. She did her degree on music from BiswaBharoti (Shantiniketon) University, India. Mita Huq is another famous singer from Bangladesh. Her specialty is following notations of tagore's song perfectly. Singer Shahjahan Kamal was born with music in his blood. Before having any formal education on music he started singing at family get-togethers and small social gatherings in very early age. He started learning music in the year of 1975 at Ognibeena Sangitayotan, Dhaka and finished his certification course in 1981. In the school he learned Rabindra Sangeet from outstanding teachers such as Sree Sudhin Daas and late Zahidur Rahim. He received lessons on classical music from Ustad Ful Mohammad. Shahjahan Kamal believes that learning process is infinite. He endeavours to learn more about music whenever he meets any music-scholar. He recalls with respect the advice and guidelines on different occasions from famous singers like Abdul Ahad, Kalim Sharafi, Sanjida Khatun, Wahidul Huq, Ajit Roy, and Papia Sarwar. His first appearance in Bangladesh Television was in the month of May 1977 at a program for new young singers titled "NOBOKOLLOL". From then until 1982 he was an irregular singer of BTV and Radio Bangladesh, Dhaka Centre. He went through general audition test to become an enlisted singer at both national broadcasting media. He regularly performed in Radio, TV and stage shows in Dhaka and other cities of Bangladesh. He was one of the founding members of Bangladesh Rabindra Sangeet Shilpee Sangstha (an association of Rabindra Sangeet singers of Bangladesh). He served the organization as its Asstt. General Secretary. He is an active member of "Soncharee" a cultural organization, Toronto. He taught music at Jhankar Lalitkola Academy and Bongio Sangskritic Chakra in Dhaka. Presently he lives in Toronto and teaches music at Alam Pia School of Music
