MUCUS MEMBRANE on CAPITAL CHAOS 2008 video

MUCUS MEMBRANE on CAPITAL CHAOS 2008 Mucus Membrane was formed in 1996 by Tom Persons (Pessimist, Psypheria) and Vinnie Matthews (Criminal Intent, Dying Fetus) as a side project to provide an outlet for their most brutal musical tendencies. After colaborating with Sparky Voyles (Misery Index, Dying Fetus, M.O.D.) on a few songs they recorded the "Shallow Existence" mini CD which was released on Wild Rags records in early '97. At this point Tom moved to San Jose, California and joined Psypheria. While Vinnie and Sparky eventually joined Dying Fetus. http://www.mucusmembrane.com/ The band reformed in late 2000 as Tom was joined by drummer Rob Lumbre, bassist Jeff Hughell, and guitarist Nick Avlonitis. This culminated in the release of another 4 song demo CD in 2001 entitled "Defile the Weak". Mucus played quite a few prominent local shows in 2001 including opening slots for Dying Fetus and Nevermore on their national tours. Despite numerous line-up changes in 2001 the nucleus of Tom, Rob and Jeff went on to play the 2001 Milwaukee Metalfest before both Jeff and Rob decided to leave the band for personal resons. http://www.myspace.com/mucusmembrane At that point Mucus Membrane went into temporary hiatus as Tom relocated to Sacramento, Ca. By 2003 Tom had begun recording the Shades Below CD in his home studio using Pro Tools and Sample Cell to record the instruments and program the drums. After finishing the CD in June of 2004 Tom began shopping it around to potential labels before receiving intrest from Hammermill Records, a small label out of Utica, NY. After signing a 2 CD deal and completing the artwork for the Shades Below CD Tom began writing new material. Through a stroke of luck he happened to answer an ad on a local web forum for a singer and drummer looking to play fast death metal. Thus began the reformation and current line-up of Mucus Membrane as vocalist Josh Ditri (Mask Of Sanity) and drummer Joe Lopresti (Mask of Sanity) joined the band. Within a few weeks bassist Jon Borrmann (Mask Of Sanity) entered the Mucus ranks, and then by the end of 2005 Scoobie Creamer (Kill Devil Hill, Drop Seven, The Council, and Girth) joined the existing lineup. By the spring of 2006 it was evident a change was needed so Josh and Joe left the band and Tom took over the vocal duties. After a number of misfires Chris Dann (Bled, World Of Lies, Shrine Of Scars) joined the band on drums in the summer of 2006 completing the current lineup. http://www.metal-archives.com/band.php?id=28139 Mucus Membrane is determined to bring you the most brutal yet melodic and catchy music their is. We will not compromise ourselves and we will remain underground, for that is where this type of music was meant to be.
