Scouting For Girls are a British band from Ruislip, London. The group was formed in 2005 by lifelong friends Roy Stride, Greg Churchouse and Peter Ellard. Their music encompasses a lighthearted pop style reflecting on childhood innocence and experiences. The name Scouting For Girls is a quote attributed to Gary Glitter and plays on the words of the renowned Scouting for Boys handbook, first published in 1908 for the Scouts, which provides boys instructions on good citizenship. Continuing with the theme, the SFG fan club is known as the 'Wolfcubs' and is based on the Dennis The Menace fanclub. In February 2007, Scouting for Girls were signed to Epic UK [a division of Sony BMG] Their first E.P. single, 'It's Not About You', heavily influenced by artists such as Electric Furs, was released on June 25th 2007 and is the highest charting limited edition E.P. in chart history.Their first full single 'She's So Lovely', was released on August 27th 2007 and stayed in the Top 10 for six weeks.
