Mark Ronson and Nas named as patrons of Amy Winehouse Foundation

Jess Glynne, Foxes and Ella Henderson will also become Ambassadors for the Foundation

Mark Ronson and Nas are set to become patrons of the Amy Winehouse Foundation at an event in London.

The fourth annual Amy Winehouse Foundation Gala will be held at The Savoy tomorrow, with Ronson attending as a guest of honour.

Ronson worked on the late singer’s ‘Back To Black’ album, recently labelling Winehouse as “one of the best lyricists of this generation”.

“Becoming a patron of the Amy Winehouse Foundation is a big deal to me,” Ronson says. “It’s very important to help the great work that they are already doing, both with substance misuse and helping talented disadvantaged youth through music. Amy’s music touched so many and also helped them—and now through the Foundation, it continues to help people.”

Nas, meanwhile, released his song ‘Cherry Wine’ in 2012, which featured posthumous vocals from Winehouse.

Winehouse’s producer Salaam Remi is also set to become a patron, while Foxes, Ella Henderson, Jess Glynne, Jermaine Jackman and Vanessa Feltz will become ambassadors.

The Amy Winehouse Foundation was launched in September 2011 following the death of the singer. The Gala will feature an auction to raise money for the Foundation and its projects.
