FFS to play London gig in September

Supergroup will play at The Forum on September 8

Franz Ferdinand and Sparks will play a London gig under their FFS guise in September.

The gig will take place at The Forum on September 8. Tickets are available from 9am this Friday (July 10).

FFS have only played two headline UK dates so far, having released their debut album ‘FFS’ earlier this year. The supergroup performed at Glastonbury having made their live debut in Glasgow on June 16. They also performed at London’s Troxy venue on June 29.

The group have been active across the European festival scene and have appearances at Benicassim, Pukkelpop, Lowlands and Rock En Seine in their diary before the Forum gig. They also play previously announced headline dates in Edinburgh, Manchester and Glasgow in August.

Franz Ferdinand released their most recent album, ‘Right Thoughts, Right Words, Right Action’, in 2013. Sparks remain an active live band and released ‘The Seduction of Ingmar Bergman’ in 2009.

‘FFS’ was produced by John Congleton (St Vincent, David Byrne, Anna Calvi) and recorded at London’s RAK Studios. Talks between the two bands regarding a collaboration happened around the time Franz Ferdinand released their 2004 single ‘Take Me Out’. However, it wasn’t until 2013 that plans were forged.

FFS UK live dates:

Edinburgh, Festival Theatre (August 24)
Manchester, Albert Hall (August 25)
Glasgow, Barrowlands (August 26)
London, Forum (September 8)
