Dua Lipa is reportedly filming the video for her Bond theme this summer

Whispers of her involvement in Daniel Craig's last film have been circulating for some time

Dua Lipa is set to shoot the video for her heavily rumoured James Bond theme this summer, it’s been reported.

In 2018, Years & Years let slip that the ‘New Rules’ pop star could be taking on the iconic track for the next instalment of the hit franchise. Responding to the claims, Lipa said: “I would love to do it, but I’m not recording it… so far.”

Now, Sassilive reports that the filming of the singer’s Bond video will happen in Italy this August. This comes after claims that Bond 25 – Daniel Craig’s last outing as the character – will be filming in Matera, southern Italy.

The Italian publication say that Lipa’s production will “organise an Apulian stay in Savelletri, in the Valle d’Itria, and then transfer to the province of Matera, first inside a seaside tourist resort in Marina di Pisticci and then in the Sassi of Matera.”

NME has contacted Dua Lipa’s representatives for comment.

Recent Bond outings have seen themes from the likes of Adele, Jack White, and Chris Cornell.

Sam Smith tackled the track for the last Bond movie, Spectre, in 2015. The pop star won an Oscar for Best Original Song in 2016 for ‘Writing’s On The Wall’.

Meanwhile, Dua Lipa recently spoke out on the struggles female artists can face breaking through in the music industry. “As women, we have to work harder to be heard and appreciated,” she said
