Listen to Brockhampton star Kevin Abstract’s three new songs for ‘ARIZONA baby’

Jack Antonoff is on production duties

Brockhampton’s Kevin Abstract has shared three new songs as part of his project, ‘ARIZONA baby’.

‘Big Wheels’, ‘Joy Ride’, and ‘Georgia’ appear on the release, which Abstract previously teased with a snippet of new material and some artwork. ‘Big Wheels’ is a jittering track with flushes of noir guitars and jazz sentiments. ‘Joy Ride’ is a dizzying, upbeat ditty, while brooding slow-jam ‘Georgia’ mellows things out at the end. The American musician released ‘Big Wheels’ earlier this week and in a cryptic Instagram post shared the dates “11th”, “18th”, and “25th”, which fans speculate are upcoming live dates.

Pop powerhouse Jack Antonoff (Bleachers) produced the three-song project.

Abstract’s last solo outing was 2016’s ‘American Boyfriend: A Suburban Love Story’. He released his debut record, ‘MTV1987’, in 2014.

Elsewhere, Brockhampton were recently nominated for Best International Group at the 2019 BRIT Awards. Speaking to NME on the red carpet, they refused to say much about their next album but said it was “not going to be what anyone expects.”

Brockhampton will perform at this year’s Lovebox Festival in London (July 12-13), joining the likes of Solange and Chance The Rapper in Gunnersbury Park.

In 2018, Abstract spoke about how he wanted to be considered an icon, rather than a queer icon.
