Say they’ll be there? The Spice Girls have been asked to play Glastonbury

MAKE IT HAPPEN.

Emma Bunton has revealed that the Spice Girls have been asked to perform at Glastonbury, but they’re waiting to see how their UK tour goes.

The singer revealed on BBC Radio 2 that they’re being scouted for a huge slot on Worthy Farm, although it all depends on the success of their comeback tour – which kicks off in Dublin next month.

Addressing rumours that the group could be bringing Girl Power to the legendary festival, Emma told Zoe Ball: “We have been asked – we’re going to see how this tour goes first!”

The confirmation of an offer from Worthy Farm bosses comes after Mel B previously teased that a performance could be on the cards.

“Glastonbury. It’s been talked about,” she told The Sun. “But we’re so pop and it’s so cool — that’ll be funny to me.

“I think Mel C would really appreciate us doing that — she’s the cool one. She’s the cool indie chick.”

At present their tour will conclude at Wembley Stadium on June 15, which means that there’s a Glastonbury shaped hole in their schedule.

Emma also recently denied reports that the future of the tour could be in jeopardy, due to a reported feud between Geri Horner and Mel B.

The disagreement started after the latter reportedly claimed during a recording on Piers Morgan’s Life Stories last month that she and Geri slept together a number of years ago. Geri denied the claims in a statement, calling Mel’s claims “simply not true” and “hurtful”.

“Of course it’s happening, we are starting rehearsals on Monday!” the singer told The Jonathan Ross Show this week in an episode which is due to air on ITV tomorrow (April 13).

“We have all chatted about it,” she added. “Listen, we had fun back in the day. I didn’t know anything else but you know, we are all good, we’re starting Monday, we can’t wait, we’ve all been chatting, it’s all good.”
