The Libertines have confirmed details of their first show for 2019.
The indie icons will head to Coventry on August 3 as they take top billing on the first day of the Coombe Weekender.
Taking place at Coventry’s Coombe Abbey, the festival sees them joined by an impressive supporting bill that includes the likes of Tom Grennan, Circa Waves and Reverend & The Makers.
Other notable names on the bill include Reverend & The Makers and Good Cop Bad Cop – the side project of Milburn’s Joe Carnall and Arctic Monkeys drummer Matt Helders.

While the show marks their first confirmed performance of 2019, The Libertines are yet to release the follow-up to 2015’s ‘Anthems For Doomed Youth’.
Delivering an update on the band’s latest recording plans, Carl Barat said last year: “I tend to lock myself away in my little bunker as I can be lazy, I can’t work under the pressure of thinking I need to write a fucking hit.
“I’ve got a lot of ideas for this album,” he added. “Ones which I need to chat about with the boys.”
Meanwhile, Pete Doherty is about to release his first album with new band The Puta Madres.
The band’s recent single ‘Paradise Is Under Your Nose’ features guitarist Jack Jones – also a member of Trampolene – sharing vocal duties with Doherty. “Joy is wherever you go / Yeah, you know I’m gonna follow you down,” the pair sing above a gentle instrumental.
The record is described as “a devastatingly intimate portrait of love, loss and being lost,” and was recorded in a French fishing village across four consecutive days last summer. It’s set for release on April 26.
