P Diddy admits that he cried watching ‘Downton Abbey’

Rapper says he related to the character Matthew Crawley

P Diddy has revealed that he once got so emotional about an episode of Downton Abbey that he shed a tear.

Describing himself as a “big fan” of the British show, the rapper/producer (real name Sean Combs) told Bafta Celebrates Downton Abbey how he first got into the show: “I’m interested in history, kings and lords. I watched episode one and got wrapped up in it.”

“Then I found out I had a crush on Lady Sybil. I watched it every week to see her pretty eyes and discovered the show was excellent.”

Combs praised the show’s “incredible” writing and “great actors”. He continued to reveal that he cried when one of the characters was killed off.

“When Matthew Crawley died it was straight tears in my house. His plight as an outsider coming in, being hit with a fortune and having to figure it out, reminded me of myself.”

“I was angry and wrote to the creators saying it was uncalled for and stressful.”

“I love the British. But I’m not happy the show is ending. We have to do something about it,” he added.

Combs recently returned to music and his original moniker Puff Daddy to release his ‘MMM’ mixtape earlier this week (November 4).
