WARNING: This article contains spoilers for both seasons of ‘Fleabag’
The last ever episode of Phoebe Waller-Bridge’s acclaimed TV show Fleabag aired last night on BBC Three. Spanning two seasons, Waller-Bridge is also the brains behind Killing Eve, and plays the show’s flawed but likeable protagonist.
Actor Sian Clifford – who plays Claire, the sister of the show’s lead character Fleabag – confirmed that last night’s episode is the last ever in the series.
Fans of the show were sad to say goodbye to one of the most refreshing dark comedies in years, but this morning, they’re looking back on Fleabag and dissecting the show’s ‘perfect’ ending.
They’re rightly crowning Phoebe Waller-Bridge queen of comedy
I have never felt as proufoundly moved by anything as I did by Phoebe Waller Bridge last night. If you know you know.

I can't stop thinking about #Fleabag and brilliantly written it is. Phoebe Waller-Bridge is my new hero. Brevity, wit, innovation.
This is a love story.

Everyone’s still horny for the sexy priest…
fuck the bbc for making season 2 of fleabag esp that “kneel” scene and rekindling every single one of my latent sexy priest fantasies

We see those lipstick marks mr. priest. This probably took many takes and that’s sexy as hell #fleabag pic.twitter.com/4aPs6647Lo

Speaking of #Fleabag, I don’t know who it was who said that Andrew Scott is a man who looks like both Ant and Dec at the same time, but you can’t ever unsee something like that. pic.twitter.com/3GQVeFv1y8

People are rejoicing at National Treasure Olivia Colman turning fully evil

Really love how spot on it was to put Olivia Colman's awful stepmom character in a kimono for the wedding scene of Fleabag last night
— Table Scraps (@TableScrapsBand) April 9, 2019
Fleabag was absolutely genius but honestly, the thing that amazed me most was how amazing at acting Olivia Colman is because I bloody love her but absolutely fucking despised her character with a passion in this
— Phoebe (@pheebsjm) April 8, 2019
There’s a lot of love for Sian Clifford’s performance as Claire
One of the best things about #Fleabag was the sister sister relationship. One rarely depicted on tv drama or sitcom for some reason and never with such honesty and love. Claire and Fleabag forever !
— bexmoss (@bexmoss_1) April 9, 2019
I know I’ve been shouting out for genius brainbox Phoebe Waller Bridge but can I also shove out the heralds for Sian Clifford who played Claire because that is one of the greatest comic performances of my lifetime.
Absolute perfection. Perfect creation. Played perfectly. Bravo.

There are so many favourite lines to choose from…
"I love you…"
"It'll pass."
Fleabag is too much.
— Silas Miami (@SilasMiami) April 9, 2019
“You’re not the way you are because of me”
“I know”
“You’re the way you are because of her…. and it’s those bits that you need to cling to.”
It’s the little moments of just fleabag and her dad that break my heart. #Fleabag2 #fleabag— laura b (@laurabreslinx) April 8, 2019
Got back from my weekly pub quiz and watched Fleabag a bit late. I would like to predict that before I die I go to at least three weddings where the Priest’s speech on love is read out. pic.twitter.com/ybqUUy04uc

There aren't enough thinkpieces about how funny it was that weird stepson Jake's bassoon piece was titled "Where's Claire?". I did a perfect spit-take with a mouth full of tea that made my cat soar across the room. #Fleabag
— Tom Hoare (@HoareTom) April 9, 2019
Sure everyone’s talking about the big love speech/sermon in Fleabag but in time we’ll all agree that the priest’s MVP line was when he said the bassoon song was called “Where’s Claire?”
— jonhickman (@jonhickman) April 9, 2019
… and a lot of clever twists to pick up on
… Both Claire and Fleabag had to kneel for what they wanted/needed. The dad acknowledged their existence. And the priest chose his god and this seemed to free her, at the same time as being nooooooo.

So first time I missed that Olivia Colman's character couldn't remember #Fleabag's dad's name – now watching again. Brilliant.

Ok fine but we have known all along the the real love story of Fleabag is the one between her and Claire. pic.twitter.com/AVjmk9leHl

There are also a few unanswered questions
My main question after Fleabag is wtf was her dad wearing to his own wedding
— TJ Gallagher (@timmyyyggg) April 8, 2019
Questions left unanswered on #Fleabag
What is Fleabag's real name?
What is Dad's name?
What is The Priest's name? (I'm not buying 'Neil' spoils the fantasy ?)
Gone but not forgotten
Bravo Phoebe ?

WHO IS THE BISEXUAL SYRIAN IN #Fleabag ? He is the most beautiful man I’ve ever seen.

Let's hope Phoebe Waller-Bridge doesn't go down the J.K Rowling route & start announcing random facts about #Fleabag
'Oh by the way her name was Sarah & she signed the Article 50 petition'— Chris Hobbs (@ChrisHobbs_) April 9, 2019
What will I do without #Fleabag ?
— Debbie (@debi77) April 8, 2019
Oh well, all is not totally lost. While we’ve seen the last of Fleabag, Phoebe Waller-Bridge’s Killing Eve‘s season two is on the way, and today also saw a third season confirmed.
