5 Lesser Known Acts You Have To See At Sonisphere 2011

The Big Four are playing Sonisphere, and we’re pretty excited, who wouldn’t be? But you should make sure you catch these smaller acts on the bill as well, because at this rate they could be set to be the Big Five in the gritty rock hall of fame of the future.

Rise To Remain

Why: The London metalcore Sonisphere favourites have supported Iron Maiden and are certainly set for big things in the rock world. Don’t miss them while they’re still playing the smaller festival stages.
Where and when: Red Bull Bedroom Jam Stage, Saturday.

Why: With members who have worked with the likes of Jamie T, Mutant and The Skets and a solid love of 80’s alt and punk – they create dramatic snippets of sing-a-long rock goodness.
Where and when: Jagermeister Stage, Sunday.

Mojo Fury

Why: Northern Ireland’s latest offering Mojo Fury have supported the likes of Biffy Clyro and The Cooper Temple Clause and will bash the hell out their instruments while producing perfect grunge-rock at Sonisphere this summer.
Where and when: Jagermeister Stage, Sunday.

Cerebral Ballzy

Why: The Brooklyn punks are hitting the festival season hard this summer with gigs at Reading And Leeds, Latitude, and a long list of rocky others as well as Sonisphere. Expect a set of short, sharp, jagged hardcore gems.
Where and when: Red Bull Bedroom Jam Stage, Friday.

The James Cleaver Quintet

Why: The Kent hardcore foursome (yes we know they say they’re a quintet, they also don’t have a member called James Cleaver) have been trampling all over the music scene with big, heavy, guitar-laden live shows.
Where and when: Jagermeister Stage, Sunday
