Fancy getting away from all the stress and fuss of UK festivals for something a little more idyllic and with one of the best line-ups in Europe? Then France’s Festival Beauregard is just around the corner – and just a short hop across the English Channel.

It’s the weekend after Glastonbury, but way more chilled. Taking place July 4-7 2019, Festival Beauregard say they aim to connect “the intensity of live music, the majesty of nature, comfort and celebration,” and one that helps its guests “share every emotion, and discover every kind of music”. Lovely stuff.
“The idea is to have high quality artists that can please a large and really diverse audience,” said festival director Paul Langeois. “By merging artistic lines and different genres, we can reach more people and different generations in order to arouse people’s curiosity.”
There’s definitely something for everyone, and the festival seem to have cherry-picked a lot of the best talent from across the circuit this summer. You can get lost in the shuddering post-punk majesty of Interpol, get stupid to The Hives, be hypnotised by Mogwai, mosh yourself into oblivion with Limp Bizkit, scratch that punk itch with IDLES, strike a pose with Gossip, enjoy a few classics with Tears For Fears, holler out the anthems with Snow Patrol, or rave into the wee hours of the morning with Fatboy Slim and Disclosure.
Located halfway between Caen and the coast in the heart of Normandy, the festival is easily accessible for people travelling from the UK by just nipping over on the ferry from Portsmouth or on a short flight from London Southend airport. It couldn’t be much easier. Then wait until you get there. The site location (Château de Beauregard) is only a few miles away from the port of Caen-Ouistreham. That’s right. Awesome bands by a castle and some beautiful woodland. We’ll see you there. Au revoir.
