Glastonbury Rumour Mill – 11 Line-Up Secrets We’ve Heard So Far

We’ve already heard today that Muse and Coldplay will not, contrary to rumour, be playing Glastonbury this year – but Klaxons definitely will.

Here are 11 more Glasto rumours that are flying around. 10 are highly likely to the best of our knowledge, one is a load of absolute balls. Can you guess which?

1. Lady GaGa is to follow up her Other Stage appearance with a ‘secret’ show on Saturday night in Shangri-La.

2. Neil Young will be joined onstage by his old bandmates Crosby, Stills And Nash on Friday night. C, S and N play the same Pyramid Stage the following day.

3. Likewise, Lily Allen will follow up her slot by joining The Specials onstage – Lily had Lynval Golding and Terry Hall join her in 2007 for two Specials songs.

3. Jack White will be back at Glastonbury for the fourth time this decade – the Dead Weather are strongly rumoured to be playing The Park Stage on Friday. Jack played the festival with The White Stripes in 2002 and 2005 (when they headlined), and last year played with The Raconteurs – AND guested briefly with The Last Shadow Puppets.

4. Bruce Springsteen’s set will include a cover of The Clash’s ‘London Calling’ in homage to one of his heroes, Joe Strummer, who was a regular Glasto visitor. No idea whether The Boss will visit the Strummer stone though. Oh, and if it rains, he may well open with a cover of Creedence Clearwater Revival’s ‘Who’ll Stop The Rain’. He’s done that before.

5. Blur will be joined by a choir during their Pyramid Stage headline slot. They will feature on ‘Tender’ for sure, and ‘Essex Dogs’ (if they play it).

6. Spinal Tap will be in full costume for the only time on their current world tour when they play the Pyramid Stage on Saturday.

7. The Ting Tings will be joined onstage by a brass section wearing brightly coloured wigs.

8. Reverend And The Makers are to make an unscheduled appearance on Sunday morning – we’re hearing the Guardian Lounge.

9. La Roux is planning to duet with her mum – Sgt June Ackland from ‘The Bill’- during ‘In For The Kill’. For one night only, the song will be known as ‘In For The Bill’.

10. Kanye West is strongly tipped to join his protégé Mr Hudson onstage.

11. Beastie Boys may make a first appearance at the bash since 1994 – they have been spotted in London this week, so who knows?
