Parklife line-up: who will perform at the festival in 2018?

The gem in Manchester’s crazy, hedonistic club-loving crown, Parklife is back for another year at the city’s Heaton Park. Now one of the biggest dance-music events in the country, Parklife delivers annually with both an incredible line-up and the most up-for-it festival punters Northern England has to offer. Come rain or shine, you’re sure to find an artist or DJ to obsess over amongst the crazy props of the Elrow goes Bronx stage, the tropical-inspired Palm House or the Ibizan staple, Circoloco – whether you’ll find your head afterwards is a different matter entirely…

Parklife 2018 headliners

Saturday: The xx

Why they’ll be great? The xx are frequently heralded as one of the UK’s best current bands, and rightly so. With their eclectic blend of electronica and indie-rock, their mystical yet dazzling music translates perfectly to a live show, especially on a festival stage. Expect mystifying beats and sultry vocals and a live performance quite unlike anything Parklife’s used to.

Sunday: Liam Gallagher

Why he’ll be great? Well, it’s Liam Gallagher, in a field, in central Manchester. If Noel and Bonehead were there too, it’d be the dream come true for millions of Brits who still pour over Oasis reunion rumours online, clutching their ‘What’s the Story…’ vinyl to their chest while inconsolably sobbing. Regardless, Liam alone will be enough to electrify Sunday night’s crowds at Parklife in his headline slot – expect bucket hats galore, plenty of flying piss in plastic cups and more than one wonky tear being shed to ‘Rock ‘n’ Roll Star’ and ‘Don’t Look Back in Anger’.
