So V hit Chelmsford and Staffordshire last weekend with two days of Miles Kane joining Arctic Monkeys onstage, Rihanna making a cameo during Eminem’s headline slot, and “Wait! Is that? Woah, is that Alex Turner with a quiff?!” moments.
Both Pendulum and Manic Street Preachers revealed they’re taking a break from music, while Dionne Bromfield paid tribute to Amy Winehouse – you can read all about that and the rest of the news from the weekend over at NME.COM/Festivals/V-Festival
Katy B, Hurts, Tinie Tempah and NME Radar favourite Wolf Gang also featured on the bill. To see all our snaps, click here.
It was the return of the Noughties with Kaiser Chiefs and Razorlight performing and even Hard Fi making a special, not so secret anymore, appearance. Bringing mixed sets of old hits and new material, they all pulled in huge crowds. Did you catch the gigs? What did you think?
For me, and I’ll unashamedly fall on the side of the chart greats here, my highlight was watching Rihanna followed by Eminem and screaming, “This is the best moment of my entire life!” at least twelve times.
