Watch The Great BB King’s 2011 Glastonbury Festival Set In Full

The music world has been paying tribute to legendary bluesman BB King today (May 15) following the news that he has passed away. You can see some of their messages here. At 89 years old, the ‘King of The Blues’ was one of the last of his kind, a link to a long gone era and a rare connection to the roots of rock ‘n’ roll.

Though he was still touring regularly up until his death, one of King’s last memorable UK gigs took place in 2011 at Glastonbury Festival. Appearing on the Pyramid Stage with a gang of seasoned backing musicians, his own guitar playing was smooth as it ever was, his vocal utterly comanding and compelling and there’s a twinkle in his eye which seems undiminished by age or the grim Somerset weather.

Footage of the full set can be found online, letting the music and memory of the great man live on. Click below to transport yourself back four years to one of Worthy Farm’s most iconic shows.
