Disclosure have worked with their fair share of collaborators since bursting out of their native Reigate eighteen months ago, roping everyone from Jessie Ware to recent BBC Sound of 2014 poll winner Sam Smith into appearing on their debut album, 2013’s ‘Settle’. The last few days have seen them up the ante on the collaboration front a good couple of notches, though – after being pictured with Sting a few days ago, they last night dropped a new track with fast rising NY rapper Bishop Nehru before ‘90s R&B diva Mary J Blige announced she was working with the pair on Twitter by posting a photo of her face distorted by the same white scrawl as made famous on the DJ duo’s ‘Settle’ sleeve. Seeing as how apparently no collaboration is off limits when it comes to Disclosure, here’s a few fantasy hook-ups we’d like to see from the brothers Lawrence.
David Bowie. You did say let’s dance, Dave…
Morrissey. Don’t hang the DJs, Moz
The ghost of Beethoven
Music’s other famous brotherhood, the Gallaghers
Lou Reed via dancefloor seance
Macaulay Culkin. ‘When A Pizza Starts To Burn’ anyone?
The Fall grump Mark E. Smith
Nick Cave – if only for this horrific potential single sleeve, which looks like something out of Pan’s Labyrinth. Bone chilling.
