Ah, the baby shower. A celebration of life, of course, and a great excuse to get loads of presents. Ideal.

But like every good party, you need some excellent music to go with it, and boy have we got some tunes for you. Some of the following songs are about children and babies, others are just have baby in the title – but we can all agree that this playlist of songs perfect for that gift-getting-ceremony. The Ramones – Baby, I Love You

Originally sung by The Ronnettes, the NYC punks teamed up with Phil Spector for this expansive and left-field performance of the classic love song.

Father John Misty – Real Love Baby

The Reverend’s lushest love song to date was released as a standalone single in 2016 – a far cry from 2017’s doomy ‘Pure Comedy’.

Childish Gambino – Baby Boy

Featuring on his 2016 album ‘…Awaken, My Love!’, Donald Glover paid tribute to his first child who was born earlier that year.

Written for his and Yoko’s only son, Sean – his Beatles bandmate Paul McCartney would later call this song one of his favourite compositions by his mate.

Featured on her second album ‘Ultraviolence’, this song was originally meant to be recorded with Lou Reed, but he died on the scheduled day of recording.

A stone cold indie disco banger, this cut won Best Single at the NME Awards in 2002. Gotta have some fun ones in there, right?

This song’s about a teenage Jarvis hiding in the cupboard because he fancied his mate’s sister. A baby making song, perhaps.
