Chances are someone’s photobombed you when you’ve been trying to show off your new ‘do in a selfie, take a sweet pic with your friends or capture a tender moment on camera. It’s not just “regular” people who find delight and amusement in a good photobomb, though. Over the last few years, celebrities have been pranking everyone from other famouses to unsuspecting fans and popping up in the backs of photos. Not even the world’s biggest stars, like Adele and Justin Bieber can help themselves.
The queen of north London surprised a fan who was trying to take a selfie with the singer performing in the background at a recent gig. Little did she know, Adele was actually getting right into her shot.
Tyler, The Creator
Perhaps if this had been taken three days ago, rather than three years ago, the Odd Future rapper’s pose might be a bit different…
Imagine trying to take a nice selfie in a shop mirror and then someone barges in front of you. You’d be pretty annoyed, except if it was a bona fide living legend like Bruce Springsteen. Sounds like something that would never happen, but became very real for Usher.
Never forget this moment when Foo Fighters‘ leader Dave Grohl crept up behind Jessica Simpson and Nick Lachey, and pulled this delightful face…
Taylor Swift is no stranger to a photobomb, whether she be the bomber or the bombee. This one in the top left is a classic – her head just poking above a wall with a look that has “Surprise!” written all over it on her face.

30 Seconds To Mars mastermind Jared Leto is a repeat offender when it comes to photobombs, as these handy tweets show. Seems he’s a joker in more ways than one when there’s cameras around.

Another serial photobomber here. Cumberbatch’s finest moment came when he leapt up behind Bono at the Oscars.

You might think the older generation either wouldn’t know about or be all that into photobombing. You would be wrong. Even The Beatles have got caught up in the craze, with a very subtle one here from Ringo Starr, who’s still flashing the peace signs.

Justin Bieber loves getting into a bit of mischief, so of course he’s done a few photobombs in his time. This couple will have got a little blurry surprise when they checked their selfie.

One of the most serious photobombs, but also one of the best. Such a self-assured look from Jay as he confidently steals Vin Diesel’s thunder. That’s how to do it.

The DNCE singer is a big fan of sneaking into shots with fellow former Disney stars like Demi Lovato, fans and his brother Nick. He’s particularly committed to the later, by the looks of things (second tweet, bottom left photo), with some hilarious results.

Is Joseph Gordon-Levitt’s face like that because he’s spotted Selena Gomez in his frame or is that his go-to selfie face? We may never know, but this is one photo where the bombee manages to outdo the bomber.

There you are, looking all fancy in your suits, getting snapped at an equally fancy do when American Idol winner Kelly Clarkson decides to take all the attention away from you. Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi found out how that felt three years ago when they had the fortune to sit in front of the singer at a bash.
