She beat German Angelique Kerber 7-5 and 6-3, to make this her 22nd grand slam title and 7th Wimbledon victory.

But although her win was all skill, Serena did have one lucky charm on Centre Court on Saturday. Beyoncé.

Here they are, strolling into Centre Court like absolute royalty:

You might remember Beyoncé and Serena are good friends, given Serena’s appearance in the music video for ‘Sorry’ from Beyoncé’s ‘Lemonade’ album.

Some people thought Queen Bey should have been in the Royal Box, but she was firmly on Serena’s side on Saturday. Serena’s mum even handed her some water, so you know they’re tight.

There was an awkward moment when Beyoncé didn’t realise Serena had actually won, though.

But mostly, Bey was just there to support her friend, and remind her that in moments of doubt, repeat the mantra: “I’m a star, cause I slay”
