Blur, Tune-Yards, Kasabian: The Best Of NME Video In April

As the hours of April slip through our hands like the sands of time, let’s take a look at the highlights of NME Video over the last month. Did you know Phoenix were once called… ‘Love Boat’? The French band told us the story of their very first show together for our My First Gig series. In other interesting revelations, Kasabian tell us how they were inspired by Kanye West for new album ’48:13′, Patti Smith reveals she wrote ‘People Have The Power’ while peeling potatoes and Yannis from Foals chooses three of his favourite records to review. Session-wise, we took Sharon Van Etten to a church for a special stripped-down performance of tracks from her new album and Lizzo and Speedy Ortiz also brought their sonic majesty to the NME Basement. Don’t miss the short film we made with Tune-Yards at the Horniman’s music gallery which houses over 8,000 musical instruments.
