Coronavirus: every cancelled gig, festival and tour – and how to get your ticket refund

Poppy, The Who, Chelsea Wolfe and Machine Head are some of the artists who've pulled or postponed upcoming gigs due to Covid-19 concerns

In the wake of the cancellation of SXSW and postponement of Coachella, an increasing number of artists are exercising caution to contain the spread of coronavirus by cancelling or delaying gigs.

When it comes to getting your money back for shows that have been cancelled or postponed, Citizen’s Advice Bureau state that if the ticket was bought from an official ticket seller and not a secondary site “you can get a refund if the organiser cancels, moves or reschedules the event.”

It is likely that you’ll only get the face value of the ticket back however and not any booking fees or postage costs. Contact your ticket seller for full details of how to get a refund.

Here’s a definitive list of all the artists that have pulled imminent shows because of COVID-19.

Morning All, It's probably no surprise but we're going to have to put back the Coming Up anniversary shows until April 2021. After talking with the promoters and venues it's become clear that there's no way of putting on the shows we'd like to do while still guaranteeing the safety of the audience. Please hold on to your tickets as they’ll remain valid for the rescheduled dates. The good news is that the postponement means that (a) we can add a couple of shows that we couldn't fit in before, and (b) they'll now take place exactly 25 years from Coming Up's release – much more numerically satisfying. See all dates and grab tickets for the new shows at www.suede.co.uk We hope you're all staying safe and well – see you in 2021 Suede

MACHINE HEAD TO POSTPONE EUROPEAN TOUR. It is with heavy heart that we must announce the postponement of our upcoming EU/UK tour in support of the 25th anniversary of Burn My Eyes. As residents of the Bay Area, we’ve been hit hard and have witnessed firsthand what has been going on. Public gatherings of more than 1000 have been banned in San Jose, and events in downtown San Francisco including major concerts and conferences have been shut down. We have been watching the situation overseas on a daily basis, in contact with all promoters, and local governments for the status of our concerts there. As of a week ago, we had 6 concert cancelled until the 2nd week of April, due the banning of public gathering over 1,000 people (or in some cases 100 people). Even at that point, we still held out hope that things would be contained, and that the public gathering ordinances would be lifted by the time our tour started. As of today, we now have 14 shows cancelled until the first week of April, with 7 of them cancelled indefinitely. And it appears as of an hour ago, another 3 have been cancelled. Of paramount importance to us is the heath and safety of the Head Cases. We’ve worked hard with all our management, booking agents, and business associates to find other solutions or options, but the levels of risk to our audience and their communities is simply too high for our comfort level. In addition to that, we also have a unique group of extraordinarily passionate fans who travel from all over the continent to watch our shows. We are eternally humbled by the dedication and devotion of the Head Cases, however in this case, travel is something not recommended. So it is with deep frustration and regret that we are forced to make this announcements. The Burn My Eyes 25th anniversary tour is to be postponed and shows rescheduled for a later date, hopefully in the Fall, but possibly later. We are very sorry to announce that we are no longer able to move forward with our South American and US tours planned in March & April. With the postponement of both Lollapalooza and Coachella, we have considered all options to perform our own shows in these cities & still reach our fans, but with local advisories & restrictions in response to COVID-19, it is just not possible. Bans on some international travel have made it impossible for some members of our band & crew to travel to these countries. With these things so constantly changing, we cannot risk not being able to be at home to support and look after the more vulnerable members of our communities and families. With these tours no longer being possible, we have absorbed a huge financial loss, and it has left us in a very challenging position, but we will be around to fight another day. For this, we feel very fortunate. Our thoughts go out to everyone else who have found themselves in the position of lost work & income over the next few months, including all the hard-working touring crew and artists across the live industry. Also, our thoughts are with the venues, the independent companies, cafes, restaurants, record stores – the list is endless. We encourage everyone to support each other, so we can weather this storm. With regards to the Mexico tour, this is being assessed on a daily basis. If there is any way we can do shows, safely & responsibly, we always will. Individual festivals and shows will have specifics on any rescheduled or cancelled dates and information on refunds and tickets. Huge love and respect goes out to all the support and medical staff in our NHS and emergency services all around the world. And to all the people on the front line in controlling and dealing directly with this unprecedented situation we have found ourselves in. See you on the other side brothers and sisters. This situation is unfounded in our time and to act hastily or irresponsibly now could have very serious repercussions on the mothers of our children or children. That is something we do not fuck with.

“Thank FUCK for the NHS and those glorious fucking nurses and doctors,” they added.

“With these tours no longer being possible, we have absorbed a huge financial loss, and it has left us in a very challenging position, but we will be around to fight another day,” they added when announcing the cancellation of the American dates.

“For this, we feel very fortunate. Our thoughts go out to everyone else who have found themselves in the position of lost work & income over the next few months, including all the hard-working touring crew and artists across the live industry.

Roskilde

A sad message. There will be no Roskilde Festival this summer. It is with a heavy heart that we’re writing this. The Danish authorities have just prolonged its prohibition against larger assemblies until August 31st. The prohibition also goes for this year’s Roskilde Festival. Though we feared it would happen, we kept the hope high that it wouldn’t end this way. However, the risk of getting infected with the COVID-19 virus is too large when many people are gathered, and that consideration is by far the most important. Roskilde Festival no. 50 was meant to be something very special. We were looking forward to celebrating it with you. We have worked hard and made an extraordinary effort. We know that your expectations have been sky high too. Together we have crossed our fingers and held our breaths in the hope that the situation would change for the better and in due time for us to meet this summer. Unfortunately, that wasn’t supposed to happen after all. Roskilde Festival no. 50 must now wait until 2021. If you have bought a ticket for the festival in 2020, you will be able to transfer it to Roskilde Festival 2021. Should you not wish to transfer your ticket can be reimbursed. We will get back to you about the specific conditions regarding both transfer and reimbursement, as soon as the solution is ready. We kindly ask for your understanding regarding this. But most of all we ask for your support. You can make a huge difference for us by saying yes to being part of Roskilde Festival already now. By that, you will help secure the very foundation of the festival and get us through the difficult times that we are now facing. Right now, we need to recover from the news. Then we will back. Thank you for your support and love. Take good care of yourselves and each other. More info: http://roskil.de/eiCXz

The Mighty Hoopla

If however you do wish to receive a refund you will have the full face-value of your ticket returned to you.”

But on April 17 the organisers confirmed that the coronavirus outbreak had left them with no option but to cancel their 2020 schedule.

The organisers of the Eden Sessions say that they are “working hard to reschedule [the] artists booked for 2020 to play next year”. “When shows are rescheduled and dates confirmed, the Eden Project will contact all existing ticketholders with details,” they added. “Original tickets will remain valid for any show that is rescheduled.”

Field Day

View this post on Instagram

Amidst the current concern surrounding public wellbeing we wanted to take a moment to address any concerns around this years Field Day and keep you up to date with recent developments. With nearly four months to go, plans are still very much in motion for this year's Field Day to go ahead on July 11th. Whilst we have every hope things will have returned to normal by July, nobody can predict how events will unfold. As such we are working on a contingency plan for alternative dates to ensure the event can still take place later this year. Should it be deemed necessary to reschedule the festival, all tickets will remain valid. Those unable to attend the rescheduled date will be given the option of transferring your ticket to 2021 or obtaining a refund. The safety of our community is our priority and we will continue to monitor the latest advice from health authorities as we move closer to the event date. Work continues on what promises to be an unmissable – and much needed – party this summer and we’ll keep you updated as the situation develops. In the meantime, stay safe and look after yourselves and everyone around you. Field Day x
