Sunderland lads Frankie & The Heartstrings are back with the follow-up to their 2008 debut ‘Hunger’ and you can hear it for the first time below. The band gave us a glimpse into the process of ‘The Days Run Away’:
For various reasons this record was recorded, half in in the North East, half in London. Bernard Butler was the six th member of the band on this occasion. We lived and breathed this record for over a year. During the process we laughed, cried, fell out, made up, read books, listened to music, wrote songs, scrapped songs, went to the pub, went to Wembley, went to Greggs, went a bit mad then give ourselves a slap, considered every single decision, worked hard, made a record we are very proud of. We pushed ourselves to the edge and didn’t think of the consequences. They call it the difficult second record and we now know why, not because of the music that what relatively easy in comparison to remaining true to who we are
Any group that spend their recording process eating pasties in Greggs with Bernard Butler is fine with us. Enjoy.
