After teasing the promise of new music for nigh on five years since they reunited in 2011, The Stone Roses have finally confirmed that they are indeed working on fresh material. Speaking exclusively to NME earlier today, frontman Ian Brown splurged the good news. Check out the video below as he confirms what we’ve waited years to hear.
The Manc legends last released new music in 1994 with ‘Second Coming’. 21 years later, a joyous Ian Brown seems to be over the moon about the fact that they’re deep into the recording sessions at Paul Epworth’s Church Studios in north London.
Although it is yet to be confirmed whether the band will perform any of the tracks live at their stint at the Etihad Stadium in Manchester or various other shows this summer – fans have been reacting extremely positively to the news that new music is definitely on the way.
The news was met with glee from most corners of the web.
Oh it’s true Kev – don’t you worry.
Some fans were dead happy about the possibility of seeing the music live this summer
No pressure lads.
This fan is uncertain just how she feels about the massive news.
Another is not happy at all.
But most were dead chuffed.
There were a lot of lemons too
Karen’s interested – but only if famed producer Paul Epworth is involved.
Us too, Neil!
