The Queen channels The King
Elvis doesn’t tend to put out many music videos these days. Probably something to do with the fact he died in 1977. However, he’s decided to make an exception for this year – maybe the Christmas spirit’s got to him.
The result of this beyond-the-grave festive cheer is the brand new black and white clip for ‘The Wonder Of You’, taken from the Number One album ‘The Wonder Of You: Elvis Presley With The Royal Philharmonic Orchestra’, which, as you may have guessed, sees the King’s glorious vocals with brand new backing from the good, violin and trumpet-toting folk of the RPO. More importantly though – more importantly than the fact that an artist who’s been dead for 39 years is still putting out fresh-ish stuff – is the fact that the new video stars the majestic Kate Moss, dressed up like Elvis in a ’68 Comeback Special black leather jumpsuit. Look below – behold the wonder of Kate:
Good, innit? It’s only two and a half minutes long, but it’s probably the most sumptuous two minutes of screentime you’ll have all day. Lots of Kate pouting and lip-synching along to Elvis like she’s doing the best Lip Sync Battle of all time. Oh, and it’s all shot at London’s iconic famous Abbey Road Studios too. There are sparkly gowns, massive false eyelashes, hotpants, wind machines, and more. It’s a perfume advert with no perfume to sell. Watch it now.
