Greetings friends, lovers and cohorts. Wow. Where did the week go? I’m getting ready for a weekend DJing – at the mighty Proud Gallery in Camden tonight then up the M1 to Sheffield tomorrow to play what will end up being the Arctic Monkeys aftershow party at Threads club night. Here’s a couple of disco bombs I’ll be dropping over the weekend.
First up French genius Vitalic is back and bigger, brighter and with more beef than ever.
Next up, Riton (fresh from his Primary One collaboration we mentioned in Ten Tracks recently) has just pulled off a mighty fine remix of Wolfmother, giving their psych-rock meandering a rather spooky edge. He’s also probably got one of the finest Myspace URL’s.
Next we have this bouncy little beast from Rory Phillips. Former resident at the legendary Trash club night, now resident of Durr. The man mixes with an old school phone handset. How cool is that?!
Taking things a little deeper this grooving, writhing remix by Henrick Schwarz is dark, dirty and damn right disgraceful. You’ll need a shower after listening to this.
And if all else fails, then its time to take it up a notch, crank the volume to 11 and bring out the bass face.
Sub Focus is a real one to watch on the drum and bass scene. This is why.
See you next week
