Glasvegas Are Back – Inside This Week’s NME

Glasvegas are back, and showing what being in a rock n roll band is all about. Namely, going to LA, going a bit mental and putting together a huge album that aims to hammer the gods out of heaven. The shoot, featuring frontman James Allan stripped and daubed with ink, is bloody amazing, even if we may say so ourselves…

Also in the mag we’ve got a feature celebrating/mourning The Streets, as Mike Skinner says farewell with their new and final album, ‘Computer and Blues.’

Then there’s an interview with PJ Harvey as she releases her war-themed, and quite brilliant, new album ‘Let England Shake’.

We’re also pleased to reveal the nominations for the Shockwaves NME Awards 2011. Check out who’s made the shortlists then vote for who you think should win Best Album, Best British Group, etc. etc.

As well as that, we’ve got interviews with Everything Everything, and Faris from The Horrors (he’s got a new side-project), and we check out Jessie J and Mona live. Plus there’s the gig guide, reviews, news, and some very odd world-views.

Buy it or we’ll tie drugs to your grandparents and send them on tour with Glasvegas.
