Goldheart Assembly made their Daily Download debut almost a year ago to the day, when we gave away harmony-filled folk beauty ‘Wolves And Thieves’ (get it here). Now they’ve finally just released their debut album of the same name on Fierce Panda and as expected is a work of beardy folk genius.
However, the LP (recorded largely in Forncett Industrial Steam Museum in Norfolk, naturally) is much more than just that. Our track, ‘Jesus Wheel’ demonstrates how far they push the template and features a rhythm section driven by the pumping engine that used to open Tower Bridge. As you do.
Team Ghost, meanwhile, is the new project from Frenchman Nicolas Fromageau (real name), one of the founding members of shoegazey dreamers M83. His new single ‘Colors In Time’, which is drawn from debut EP ‘You Never Did Anything Wrong To Me’ (our on Sonic Cathedral on April 26) clocks in at a measly three minutes. It’s one of those leave-them-wanting-more tracks, a thumping kraut-gaze nugget that could easily stretch to quarter of an hour if they weren’t intent on teasing us.
