Hear Sean Nicholas Savage’s Sultry Slow Jam-Packed New Album ‘Other Death’

Hailing from Montreal and signed to influential label Arbutus, Sean Nicholas Savage counts the likes of Grimes, Doldrums and Majical Clouds among his peers and label mates. The common traits of these artists – leftfield pop sensibilities, experimental approaches and a tendency to delve into the more sentimental aspects of the human psyche – are alive and well in Savage too, but new album ‘Other Death’ shows the singer is more than deserving of his own limelight, a force in his own right.

His eleventh studio album in seven years, ‘Other Death’ takes Savage’s velvety, Prince-esque vocal and laces it over smooth, sultry soul-pop jams and minimal, infectious beats. Like Dev Hynes’ Blood Orange guise, it’s a mix that transcends genre, fusing pop hooks, R&B grooves, piano-led beauty and electronic flourishes with aplomb.

Check out the full album in an exclusive stream below ahead of the record’s official release on September 18.
