I’ll never forget the ripple of excitement that went round the office when the first Spotify beta invitations started coming in, back in 2009. Here at last was a music interface that was fast, legal, exhaustive, and just worked. Since then Spotify has gone from strength to strength, so we’re really excited to launch this app, and hope you like it too.

Spotify’s Owen Smith said:

Spotify apps are exciting music experiences that curate Spotify’s huge catalogue of songs in innovative and interesting ways. As one of the most respected editorial voices in the world the new NME app will help music lovers all over the world to enjoy and discover new music, and share it with their friends.

I hope our Spotify app helps you discover your next new favourite band. That’s what here for, after all.
