Is This The New Radiohead Album Artwork?

The wheels are definitely turning in camp Radiohead. After a string of little hints that the Oxford five-piece were gearing up to conquer 2016, yesterday they were announced for three separate festival shows in Europe, suggesting that new music is could be on the way. And speculation ramped up even higher, when a new piece of artwork appeared on their site W.A.S.T.E, with fans suggesting it could be the forthcoming record’s cover art.

The image is predictably abstract, which fits their pattern of record sleeves so far, and evokes similar icy and isolated vibes of 1997’s ‘OK Computer’ cover. Take a look below and deduce your own assumptions from it.

Although there has been no confirmation that an album will be coming this year, the new artwork appearing on the site and the announcement of three live shows certainly got tongues wagging. In June, Radiohead will play their first live show since 2012 at Primavera Festival in Barcelona, Spain before following that up with two further European festival appearances in July at Openair Festival (Switzerland) on the 2nd and NOS Alive (Portugal) on the 8th.

NME have already had a punt at some of the songs that could feature on the record, but at this point, it’s anyone guess. Strap in though, because it looks like something is just around The Bends. (Sorry).
