Ah London Fashion Week, you never fail to treat us to a rogues gallery of improbably deformed characters. The bi-annual festival of flunkies and pile-up of twisted wreckage that passes as glamour filled the capital once again with hordes of paper-thin and puddle-shallow characters clapping withered hands at ludicrous creations this week.
The Guardian went looking for some of them and found the ubiquitous Mickey Mouse jumper and one guy with a clutch bag that looks like Emu’s ballbag dipped in tarmac.
The nadir, though, was probably when London naively pushed forward Pixie Geldof as our shining example of a fashionista towards Anna Wintour on the front row. Humiliating for her and for us as a nation. Surely we can muster something better than that – but then again…
One girl that’s been glamorously floating around and bringing some proper rock chic to the table is New Yorker Lissy Trullie, who’s kick-starting her UK tour (supporting The Cribs) in Norwich today.
‘Forget About It’ is off her upcoming Downtown Records release, which is out October 20th. Expect that, maybe this Hot Chip cover and two full cylinders firing out effortless indie greatness.
Full tour dates on MySpace.
