Marina Diamandis is back in action. The singer, who just rounded up a tour (and associated Twitter love-in) with Katy Perry just released a new track on YouTube under the pseudonym Electra Heart.
She explains the alter ego on a new blog post that insists “Electra Heart epitomises and embodies the lies, illusions and death of American ideologies involved in the corruption of self”. A bit deeper than “Oh my God, you look just like Shakira…” then.
The ‘Fear And Loathing’ track itself is a moody and windswept effort pitched somewhere between Alpines and Madonna’s ‘Frozen’, while the video also sees her cut off her trademark lustrous locks (or at least the bottom half of them).
