New Music – Mount Kimbie, ‘Blood And Form’

With its squishy, Motorik beat, gently tipsy puddles of synth and trippy, backwards vocals, ‘Blood And Form’, a new track from Mount Kimbie, is a lesson in disorientating charm. Like previous teaser track, ‘Made To Stray’, which uncoiled from a simple four-to-the-floor beat to eerie, post-dubstep number, it illustrates a vital progression since the duo’s debut ‘Crooks And Lovers’.

Indeed, this latest taster of what’s to come from their second album, ‘Cold Spring Fault Less Youth’, suggests that Dominic Maker and Kai Campos are continuing to re-define what it means to be bedroom-based dance music auteurs. “BRRR” and indeed “RAAAP”!
