Nirvana’s ‘Nevermind’ Turns 21 – What’s Your Favourite Moment?

Happy Birthday, ‘Nevermind’. How do we love thee? Let us count the ways. Nirvana’s second album came out in September 1991. It’s hard to believe it’s been 21 years since the release. Seen as a pivotal moment in the way alternative was received outside the underground grunge scene, we can’t underestimate how much indie wouldn’t have been made in the last couple of decades without it. I was a young child when it came out but, when I started secondary school, it was the first album that opened my ears to rock after a childhood of Rogers & Hammerstein and Cliff Richard.

I’m sure some of you have similar stories. What’s your favourite moment in the album? It can be a lyric, bass line, drum beat, anything. Mine’s the bassline in ‘Lithium’.
