Slipknot And Avenged Sevenfold Remember Fallen Comrades – Video

Slipknot and Avenged Sevenfold have shared something tragic in the last twelve months – they’ve both suffered the loss of a band member. Slipknot’s bassist and founding member Paul Gray passed away in a hotel room in May of this year while Avenged Sevenfold drummer James ‘The Rev’ Sullivan died in December last year. Here, members of both bands speak candidly about their fallen comrades.

In this first moving tribute, Corey Taylor talks about the band’s loss, how he tries to not spend too much time in melancholy, moving on with Stone Sour and taking a cue from Pantera’s Vinnie Paul (who lost Dimebag Darrell) about “living for two now”.

Avenged Sevenfold’s M. Shadows, meanwhile, talks of losing his best friend of 18 years, the “centrepiece of what everything was built around” and how he can’t escape his absence, whether he’s at home or on stage.
