Sheffield Rockabilly is perhaps the most oxymoronic music term since Crunk Screamo, yet when Rebecca and Charles Slow Club wandered out of the Silver city, any genre queries were instantly forgotten. Cited as a one man band with two people, this is the B-Side to their latest single, It Doesn’t Have To Be Beautiful.
In preparation for the July release of their debut album, Yeah So, they are spending the majority of the month road-tripping across the country, as welcome additions on the Jamie T tour bus. To give you the chance to view Charles’s excellent quiff, and Rebecca’s infamous use of chairs as percussion, we have a pair of tickets available for their ICA Single Launch on the 22nd June. Find out more here. And just in case you don’t manage to join that particular club, here’s their new video.
Despite the strings, harmonies, and christening their organ Miles, these two are most decidedly NOT twee. In fact Rebecca harbors deep desires to join the rap game, while Charles is a vicious heartbreaker. Ones to watch.
