Watch Suede Recall Writing ’90s Hit ‘Trash’ In This New Clip From The ‘Coming Up’ Reissue Box Set

Former NME Godlike Geniuses Suede released their brilliant seventh album ‘Night Thoughts‘ at the start of this year and they’re still keeping themselves busy. This month marks 20 years since the release of their third album ‘Coming Up’ and, to celebrate its anniversary, the band are putting out a special edition of the iconic record.

As well as the original album, fans can get their hands on all the b-sides from the record, a CD of unreleased demos and monitor mixes, plus footage of an entire show in Amsterdam, which has never been released before. It also comes with a DVD that features nine TV performances from the likes of Top Of The Pops, Later… With Jools Holland and the 1997 Mercury Music Prize. Truly a Suede geek’s paradise, then.

In an exclusive clip from the disc, frontman Brett Anderson, splayed on a sofa with his bandmates, recalls writing opening track ‘Trash’, before a Top Of The Pops performance of the song cuts in. “It’s a song that’s kind of about being in the band and, by extension, it’s a song about the fans and the whole kind of ethos of being a Suede… person,” he says, one hand behind his head.
