The Hottest Trend At London Fashion Week? Er, Slipknot

Given that most people in the NME office barely change their clothes, let along buy any new ones, I can’t say any of us have been following London Fashion Week closely.

Even so, flicking through the papers this morning my eye was caught by this dapper creation, by a designer/sectionable lunatic calling himself Jaiden rVa James – presumably the Jonattan Yeah? of the fashion world:

Obviously I’ve already ordered mine: it’s ideal lounging-round-the-house gear. But haven’t we seen this look before?

That’s right – it’s a blatant rip-off of Slipknot’s Craig Jones, who pioneered the whole Zippy-meets-‘Hellraiser’ look over a decade ago.

Let’s hope this is the start of a new trend in the fashion world for heavy metal-influenced designs. I for one would love to see Paul Smith bring out a morning suit incorporating the circulaw saw codpiece worn by W.A.S.P.’s Blackie Lawless.
