1. The National – ‘You Were A Kindness’

2. She & Him – ‘Fools Rush In’
Another track from Levi’s Pioneer Sessions, indie folk duo She & Him recorded a gorgeous cover of Rube Bloom and Johnny Mercer’s 1940 hit, ‘Fools Rush In’. You can also watch a behind-the-scenes clip with the duo below.

3. Goldfrapp – ‘Believer’ (Little Loud Remix)
Mute have just released a free download of Little Loud’s remix of Goldfrapp’s latest single ‘Believer’. Head over to Little Loud’s Myspace for some other remixes of HEALTH, Yeasayer, Au Revoir Simone and Memory Tapes.

4. Egyptian Hip Hop – ‘Middle Name Period’
This group from Manchester were just ranked #11 in NME’s 50 best new bands of 2010. If you’re not yet familiar with them, then give this free track a listen.

5. Wild Nothing – ‘Golden Haze’
Virginia-based band Wild Nothing will be releasing a new EP, ‘Golden Haze’, this fall, via Captured Tracks. Apparently, the 12”, CD, and digital versions of the EP will each feature different tracklists – but they’ll all include this title track, which you can now download for free.

6. White Car – ‘No Better’
Here’s a track from Chicago duo White Car. This track, according to frontman Elon Katz, is about “dissatisfaction with temporal order” and he cites Nicholas Roeg’s film ‘Bad Timing’ as a “huge inspiration for this song.”

7. Glasser – ‘Home’
True Panther are giving away a new track by Glasser, taken from her forthcoming album ‘Ring’ (due out the end of September). And if you’re based Stateside, you can catch her on tour with Gayngs and Bon Iver this fall.

8. Yip Deceiver – ‘Sadie Hawkins Day’
There’s been a lot of buzz lately over the forthcoming of Montreal album, ‘False Priest’. But the band’s bassist Davey Pierce has also been working on a solo project called “Yip Deceiver”. It’s got a lot of similarities to the glam band’s sound, but with a bit more pop. You can also download the track ‘Obnoxia’.

9. DJ O-Face – ‘Dirt On Your Own Crown’
DJ O-Face has just completed an interesting project – layering Jay-Z’s rhymes over Sleigh Bells tunes. You can download the six-track album, cleverly titled ‘Jay Bells’, for free. And even if you don’t care for the music, you’ll at least get a laugh from the album artwork.

10. Bishop Morocco – ‘Last Year’s Disco Guitars’
Bishop Morocco are two friends from Toronto, Canada who have drawn comparisons to the likes of The Smiths, New Order, Joy Division and Jesus & Mary Chain – not a bad group of names to be associated with. They claim they wanted to create a “new kind of pop music” – go listen for yourselves.
