With the news that most of the Friends cast will reunite – Chandler, could you BE any more of a holdout? – for a TV special to commemorate the life and work of James Burrows, hype around the much-loved (and much-loathed) show has returned to almost frenzied amounts.
The latest episode in Friends‘ sort-of-return arrived last night in the form of an Instagram post from The Big Bang Theory star Kaley Cuoco, which depicted the 30-year-old and her fellow cast members Johnny Galecki (Leonard), Jim Parsons (Sheldon) and Simon Helberg (Howard) posing with the five returning Friends – Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, Matt LeBlanc and David Schwimmer – at an LA gala dinner held in honour of Burrows, who directed the majority of Friends‘ first season.
Here’s the picture that made Cuoco’s night:

In lieu of an actual Friends reunion, would it be churlish to pitch a sitcom mash-up: The Big Friend Theory? Hilarity ensues as Ross clashes with Sheldon over the minutiae of palaeontology, while Joey charms a smitten Penny, much to Leonard’s chagrin. We can dream, folks, we can dream.
