This Amateur ‘Sweded’ Recreation Of The Star Wars Trailer Is Almost As Good As The Real Thing

If you’re unfamiliar with ‘sweding’ culture, you probably haven’t seen Be Kind Rewind – a Michael Gondry film starring Jack Black and Mos Def, about a VHS rental store that has to make amateur recreations of all its tapes because they’ve all been erased. When customers ask why they take longer to arrive and cost more, their creators say they come from Sweden – hence the term ‘sweded’.

Dumb Drum is a YouTube channel dedicated to these silly, self-aware creations, and their latest swede – an absurd shot-by-shot recreation of the Star Wars trailer – is nothing short of a masterpiece. Check it out here, and if you want to see the side-by-side comparison – which demonstrates how truly eagle-eyed the seemingly amateur filmmakers have been – you can see that below too.
