It must be tough sharing a name with a famous counterpart: Sam Smith’s early career must have been hampered by people thinking he’s the owner of the local pub, while comedian Tony Hawks must get asked to do a kick-flip so frequently that it’s not even funny any more.
But imagine sharing your birth name with someone so famous that they have musicians, supermodels, actors and sports stars queuing up to share a stage with them. Well, imagine no longer – meet Taylor Swift. No, not that one, but a man from Seattle.
Speaking to local TV station KOMO 4 News recently, the lesser-known Swift described how he receives fan mail intended for the singer, is a target of confusion and suspicion every time he reveals his name in public and even had to delete his firstname.lastname@example.org email address as it was getting clogged with messages clearly not meant for him.
Oh the woes. But Taylor sees the bright side of things: “It’s a great confidence booster. It’s like endless amounts of ‘You’re beautiful, you’re so talented, you’re a great role model, you have a beautiful voice’ and here I am just like, ‘Oh, thank you!'”
It’s only a matter of time before Singer Taylor Swift is joined onstage by Man Taylor Swift during a leg of her ‘1989’ tour.
