Watch A Day In The Life Of La Roux On The Road

Touring isn’t all boozy after-shows and basking in the adoring screams of fans for musicians. Elly Jackson knows: as retro-future pop wonder La Roux, she’s done plenty of it in the six years since her massive 2009 debut. It’s also lugging equipment, long monotonous drives and trying not to get food poisoning from venue catering. It’s sound-checking every instrument within an inch of their poor sound engineer’s sanity to make sure that night’s gig is the most mind-blowing it can be, and trying to pass time and subdue nerves as the wait to hit the stage goes on. Zig Zag caught up with Jackson and her band in Paris to experience this first hand, observing the miniature details of a day in the life of La Roux on the road. It makes for pretty fascinating viewing.

Watch it above, and if you like this, also in their ‘Rolling With…’ series is a video glimpse inside the tour bus of Van McCann’s indie anthem-makers Catfish and the Bottlemen. For more info about Zig-Zag Rolling Papers and to find out more about their #proudtobedifferent campaign head to
