We took Annie Clark aka St Vincent around the Isabella Blow ‘Fashion Galore!’ exhibition at Somerset House the other day to see legendary pieces by Alexander McQueen, Philip Treacy, Hussein Chalayan and Julien Macdonald from Blow’s magnificent and enormous private collection. Clark’s playful relationship with aesthetic is always intriguing and, as she says in the short film above, she consciously uses fashion and a ‘visual language’ to augment her music. We talked about the unique contribution of Blow to 20th and 21st century dress as well as fashion as wearable art. Watch the film above.
